Australia’s CitiPower and PowerCor Select Silver Spring Networks for Major Advanced Metering Infrastructure Rollout
Project provides a consistent, Smart Grid-ready energy infrastructure across majority of Victoria
Redwood City, CA, June 9, 2009 - Silver Spring Networks, a leading Smart Grid network solutions company, announced today that it has been selected by electrical distributors CitiPower and Powercor Australia to provide the network to support the rollout of a government-mandated Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) program. Under the agreement, Silver Spring Networks will provide network infrastructure, devices, software and a variety of services in support of the AMI Program. The deployment, which will begin immediately and is expected to be complete in 2013, is intended to network approximately 1.2 million homes and businesses throughout Victoria, Australia.
